The awards, now in their tenth year, are the Industry benchmark for outstanding success in all areas of motorcycling. This year’s four awards were a record haul for BMW Motorrad, proving beyond any doubt that it has successfully made the transition from niche to mainstream manufacturer, a fact that hasn’t gone unnoticed by the motorcycle press and many new converts to the brand.

BMW Motorrad’s General Manager for Motorcycles Adrian Roderick commented: “To win the Best Manufacturer Award is truly the icing on the cake for what has been a fantastic year for us. Despite a static UK market, we are on course to achieve record sales again this year and have successfully entered new market segments with bikes such as the 167 hp K1200 S, the K1200 R naked roadster and the HP2 Enduro. “Thanks to our conquest marketing strategies and comprehensive World of BMW customer activity programme, more motorcyclists than ever before are trying our bikes and discovering what owning and riding a BMW really means. To receive more awards than any other manufacturer proves that we are achieving our objectives.

With the new products that are due to be unveiled at the Milan show in a fortnight’s time, not to mention the R1200 GS Adventure that was unveiled at yesterday’s International Motorcycle and Scooter Show, BMW enthusiasts will have even more to shout about next year.” In addition to BMW Motorrad winning the Best Manufacturer Award the company’s top-selling R1200 GS won the Best All-Rounder Award; the K1200 S won the Best Sports-Tourer Award, while the R1200 RT won the Best Tourer Award.
